Even though Lammassaari means "Sheep Island" it is actually Kuusiluoto that has sheep roaming around freely. For some reason, these islands are not widely known about. Most locals in Helsinki haven't heard of them. You can get to these islands by walking on wooden planks over marshland. It is so peaceful and quiet you forget that you are minutes away from the city. There are several small cabins on the island. Lammassaari is great for bird watching with dedicated areas for that purpose.
