Rainy Chinese New Year 2020 in Macau. Shot January 25th, 2020, the first day of the Year of the Rat. 雨の降るマカオで迎える、2020年の旧正月。2020年1月25日撮影、子年最初の日です。 snowsapien is celebrating The Year of the Rat by featuring exclusive VR videos shot in China for the next month. The Chinese New Year’s celebrations and fireworks were canceled in Macau this year. The city was eerily empty. The UNESCO Historic Centre of Macau World Heritage Site Senado Square (Largo do Senado) was decorated with beautiful lights and decorations celebrating the Year of the Rat. Most businesses around town were closed, but I found a nice place for noodles that was open. I walked around town and checked out the Hotel Lisboa area. This area has changed a lot since the first time I visited Macau. The newer Grand Lisboa, opened in 2008, is huge and has a very bright light display.
