Slamming the walleye, and apparently sharing a campfire with a pack of wolves!! Mid June and we're rocking it. Wilderness canoe trips are departing daily, and after a busy Sunday of flights into Woodland Caribou Provincial Park it was time for me to hop on one and fly out to our Eco Lodge on Olive Lake. It'll be a quick 2 night stay to do some work and routine maintenance at the cabin. Hard work by day and then its time to get on the Walleye bite in the evening. The fishing on Olive Lake is always amazing and didn't disappoint this time around. Catching some Walleye for the pan is a 5 minute affair and the scenery is breathtaking. After busting my butt on the first day, I spend the evening paddling across the lake, taking a few casts and then exploring some of the shorelines of a recent forest fire (4 years old). A quick and easy dinner of smoked Cheddar and some Salami, I chilled with my Husky dog and waited for the light to fade. On the way back I got into the Walleye on virtually every cast, keeping 2 for the pan the next morning. Day 2 was another beauty with clear skies, calm winds and warm temperatures. The day started with an amazing fish fry, followed by more work on the cabin and then heading out in the late afternoon for more exploring. The fish once again cooperated and I enjoyed a nice campfire, coffee and dinner with my pup. Truly a once in a lifetime experience, as I was setting up for a photo, a pack of 4 wolves slipped into the water 30 feet from my fire, away across the channel and scrambled up the far shoreline. To say that the hair was standing up on the back of my neck is an understatement....pretty cool though! Thanks for watching and please subscribe to always be informed of new videos!
