solotripper's video: FRICKEN BEAVERS Chasing The Light In The Creeks Of The Boreal Forest

@FRICKEN BEAVERS! | Chasing The Light In The Creeks Of The Boreal Forest
Canoeing, exploring and photographing the Beaver swamps and creeks in the Boreal Forest. Hard work is rewarded! Back on another local lake, this one less than 10 minutes from my shop! After a long day of sending out paddlers on shuttles and float planes, packing out trips and repairing gear, I needed a break and had just the lake in mind to head over to. A little gem, while this lake does not offer any Walleye fishing, the Pike opportunities are amazing and the campsites plentiful. This was the first lake I discovered when I moved to this region and I've yet to see anyone else on it. The campsites that I use remain undisturbed, giving me the feeling that I'm coming home. Beginning in a small creek, the birds were out as I work towards an opening and then again into a narrow passage plugged up by local Beavers. This year is seeing a bumper crop in the Beaver population as they are seemingly everywhere. Over the years I've seen different water levels in here, but this year the Beavers have been hard at work. Last year I was able to push through without problems, but this year required a leftover. Once I was out on the main lake I checked out my favourite campsite, cooking dinner over the fire with my Husky, Kito, by my side. We decided not to spend the night, but rather head back into the creek and the Beaver dam to capture some photo's. I figured the light would be perfect so I made a plan to just wait it out, allowing the shadows to creep over the horizon and make for memorable photographs. Getting bitten by Mosquito's and Black Flies is not fun, even worse in a smelly swamp, but the silver lining were some amazing photo's and the solitude I search for after a long day at work. Quality time with my dog is worth it. A dog by the way that was utterly filthy after rolling in the Beaver mud. Good times! Thanks again for watching and don't forget to subscribe!
