spelfabet's video: Fun spelling facts 2 adding suffixes

@Fun spelling facts 2 adding suffixes
Before we add suffixes to words, we often need to change word endings slightly. There are three main ways to do this: Double final consonant e.g. run-runner-running etc. Drop final letter e, e.g. take-taking, please-pleasant (unless e is pronounced) Swap y and i e.g. cry-cried-cries, or baby-babies-babied However, when these changes should and SHOULD NOT be made needs to be understood well before trying to teach them, or kids are inclined to over-extend them and write things like jump-jumpping, open-openner, or baby-babiish. Here the Spelfabet moveable alphabet is used to show examples and non-examples, both of which need to be taught and practised.
