Guest engine 1501 was failed before the Gala began, but 5029 Nunney Castle and GWR Heavy freight 2-8-0 2807 joined the home fleet of Black 5s 44806 and 45428, A4 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, B1 61264, Q6 63395, Lambton Tank 29 and Standard 5 75029. 5029 at Green End and Darnholm (with 75029); 63395 near Beck Hole and Green End; 29 Lambton at Green End (with 61264) and Darnholm; 2807 at Thomason Foss; 45428 at Darnholm (with 44806) and Thomason Foss; 60007 at Beck Hole.
