In this excellent documentary film, an L.A. gang member explores the true history and origins of the Bloods and the Crips street gangs in the United States. This film shows how in the 1950's, the black communities within the segregated cities in California became hunting grounds for racist white-supremacy gangs. White gangs such as 'The Spook Hunters' would travel into the Afro-American neighborhoods in large numbers to harass, assault, rape, murder and lynch black people on a daily basis. In order to protect the people of the Afro-American communities and neighborhoods against these violent white gangs and against the increasingly racist and violent police departments, different organizations arose, such as the Black Panther Party for self-defense and the US-Organization, among others. With the increasing popularity, expansion of power and structured militancy of the Black Panther Party and the US-Organization, then FBI director J. Edgar Hoover decided to employ the FBI's infamous COINTELPRO operation. The FBI's COINTELPRO operation was intended to create friction and opposition between the various Afro-American organizations and their leaders. Through this policy, the FBI successfully infiltrated, demonized, broke up and neutralized the Black Panthers and the US-Organization. COINTELPRO effectively incarcerated and assassinated any leading figure within these major Afro-American groups. With all the Black Panther and US-Organization leaders either murdered or incarcerated, the CIA then flooded the black communities with tons of cocaine and firearms, in effect sparking the crack epidemic. These circumstances are what eventually laid the foundation for the creation of the opposing Bloods and Crips street gangs we know today. The Bloods and the Crips are the bastard children of the murdered leaders of the Black Panther Party for self-defense. The black communities of major cities in the United States today are presently still divided by these street gangs who are at constant battle for power over turf and control over the drugs trade. The gangs constantly struggle against each other for gang loyalty and out of retaliation of violent acts of the past. This current situation is basically fulfilling the wishes of the racist FBI, CIA and US Government - to never let the black communities unify and rise to power and to never let the Afro-Americans start a real unified insurrection or rebellion against the racist, fascist and oppressive United States government. If all of the now opposing street gangs could somehow form a truce and unify, they could easily overthrow the local, state and federal government, for they would outnumber and outgun the police and people protecting the US Government power structure, by a 100 to 1 ratio.
