suuzzee5's video: Coyote Lines No 8

@Coyote Lines, No. 8
This video is part of Coyote Lines, No. 8, from my Appalachian Series, a work in progress for the past year. If you don't know what prompted me to make this video today, please scroll down and read the DAILY REPORT for January 19th from my channel. I am also asking for your help tonight ... if you have energy or power or prayers to spare, would you please send them to the mountain for protection of the coyotes until daybreak. I don't think I can do this alone... ************************************************** MUSIC: Angela Easterling's "River Jordan" replaces the elegant and beautiful "Sunken Waltz" by Calexico. http://www.angelaeasterling.com/ ************************************************** DAILY REPORT FROM The National Home for the Easily Amused JANUARY 19, 2008: I'm struggling with some things today that have never been in my life before. A hunter has been loosed in the woods for a contest this evening. He got permission from my neighbors to hunt on their land ... if he can kill a coyote that's large enough or kill enough coyotes, he wins some money. He won't be coming onto my land but he will be on the ridges to the east, searching for the large male coyote who visits the cats and me on a regular basis. This coyote remains outside the fence, of course ... that's why the fence was put there and it's worked well for years. We watch one another, this coyote and I, and we've made our peace. We both know where the boundaries are. He has become part of the fabric here at The Home and I can't let him be taken ... so this afternoon I walked into the mountain in the snow and hopefully left enough scent and made enough noise so that he and his family will be especially wary tonight. I am also summoning the rising snowstorm with all of my will, asking it to come tonight and take away the hunter's eyes and the power of his rifle. In case this sounds strange to you ... a couple of weeks ago, I went to see a Native American shaman who guided me to my power animal ... and it was Coyote. I was speechless! Would have guessed it to be some type of cat or perhaps a bird or fish but never in the furthest reaches of imagination would I have guessed Coyote! Whatever has been going on with me this past year has advanced to yet another level, taking me along with it and I've just got to have the courage to hang loose and take the ride. But today ... I feel responsible for the hunter being here and I have vowed to warn the coyotes and then ... not to speak of them again in this forum or in my real-time life. Silence will protect them in a way that nothing else can. ************************************************** JANUARY 20, 2008: Thank you--each and every one of you--from the coyotes and me! Your love and caring radiated over the eastern ridges and prevented a tragic and senseless killing. So I say this to you from my Coyote Lines, No. 4 ... when good prevails and darkness fails for all the world to see then time stands still as bowed to will and love runs wild and free ************************************************** "Sunken Waltz" by Calexico Washed my face in the rivers of empire made my bed from a cardboard crate down in the city of quartz no news, no new regrets tossed a Susan B. over my shoulder and prayed it would rain and rain submerge the whole western states call it a last fair deal with an American seal and corporate hand shake take the story of carpenter mike dropped his tools and his keys and left and headed out as far as he could past the cities and gated neighborhoods he slept 'neath the stars wrote down what he dreamt and he built a machine for no one to see then took flight, first light of new morning .
