Does your truck have a broken dipstick tube? This might be a good fix for you if you can't get the old dipstick tube out of the block and need to get the truck going again. When we did this repair, we changed the oil and 7.5 quarts puts it in the middle of the crosshatch of the dipstick, which is below the full line. Hope this helps someone!
