Taurus Firearms - 738 TCP Series Pistol Disassembly Instructions. ALWAYS MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FIREARM IS SAFE! Follow these simple steps when disassembling semi automatic pistols: 1. Remove the firearm from the box and point in a safe direction. 2. Remove the magazine and set aside. 3. Pull the slide back and lock the slide in the open position. 4. Once the slide is locked in the open position, CHECK and MAKE SURE that the chamber is clear by visually looking at the inside the firearm from the ejection port of the firearm into the chamber.
