Sebastián de Albero (1722-1756), Sonata No. 10 in G major, from "30 Sonatas for Harpsichord." Tempo: "Allegro." To celebrate the publication of my new edition of the Spanish composer Sebastián de Albero's "30 Sonatas for Harpsichord," I am recording all of them for my YouTube channel. My edition, newly typeset based on the single manuscript copy in the Venice Biblioteca Nationale Marciana, is available for sale in BOTH perfect-bound and coil-bound format at Lulu.com, and ONLY in perfect-bound format on Amazon worldwide, and other on-line sources (ISBN 978-1-329-66028-130) . I hope harpsichordists and pianists will explore the now easily accessible edition of these colorful sonatas, both lively and melancholy, composed somewhat in the vein of Scarlatti and Soler (both of whom Albero knew, as he worked in the court of Spain)---but Albero has his own distinctive and attractive style. I have also, as far as possible, typeset them for easy readability and with convenient page turns. Albero's sonatas are organized in pairs, with the exception of numbers 15 and 30, which are fugues. The pairs are often in contrasting moods and tempi.
