thephotosisters's video: Crop vs Full Frame Sensor

@Crop vs Full Frame Sensor
Not sure what a crop or full frame sensor is or what you need? We give you a very simple & non-technical explanation! Basically, a crop sensor will magnify what you see, so when you use a 50mm lens with a crop sensor, it won't look like a true 50mm lens that you will see on a full-frame sensor. To solve this problem, you just have to take some steps back or switch to a wider lens. If you have a crop sensor and want a great prime lens that will give you a standard look, we'd recommend looking into a 35mm lens such as this one: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-35mm-Wide-Angle-Cameras/dp/B00009XVCU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381247914&sr=8-1&keywords=canon+35mm+lens Here's a link to a calculator we found to help you calculate the proper focal length for your camera sensor size & lenses: http://www.digified.net/focallength/ A full-frame sensor will show you the true focal length of lenses, so you don't have to do any math or compensate for different focal lengths. Full-frame sensors are also generally better at higher ISO numbers, but it's definitely not necessary to purchase a full-frame camera just for better quality unless you truly need it or want the capability to get wide shots.
