Syracuse Coach, Jim Boeheim ("Boehime) had a melt down on Saturday, February 22, in the game Syracuse vs. Duke. Boeheim have been coaching for 37 years and this is the first time that he had a tantrum. Duke was leading 60-58 when official Tony Greene made a call. When Syracuse's senior forward C.J. Fair's game tying basket with 10.4 seconds left was waved off and he was called for the offensive foul, this triggered Boeheim's meltdown. Had that basket been counted, it would have tied the game at 60. Boeheim screamed to Official Tony Greene four times, "that's the new rule," followed with a near-jacket toss, some jumping and other harsh words. Boeheim thought this was the worst call of the year and his tantrum earned him two technical fouls, and an ejection from the game at only 10.4 seconds to go. A police escort led him off the court at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C. In the end, Syracuse Orange needed him. They ultimately lost the game by 6 points, the score was 66-60.
