With my grandparent's birthday coming up next saturday (my grandma decided to do her's on the same day as my grandpa's), my sister and I decided to be creative this year and make a music video to present to them during the family party! So, taking advantage of spring break, I recorded and edited these two videos in their honor. Of course, everything is a surprise and they do not know of it yet but I can upload it to share with you all because I don't expect my grandparents to be on youtube anyway. haha. This video is also dedicated to my very good friend, George (Hkship) since his birthday is on 4/12/2010 and I didn't have time to upload a video in his honor. These two songs are for you, George! :) Annie sang the song 家家有本难念的经 (Every Family Has Their Own Book Of Difficulties), which is a very nice song about family and also happens to be one of my grandma's favorite. My sister asked me to apologize for her singing because there were some words that she sang wrong. We didn't really have time to fix it since I was at my grandparents' house the whole week and I did all the recording on the mic at home before I left. So yes, enjoy and excuse all errors! :) I sang Teresa Teng's song 恩爱夫妻 (Loving Married Couple) and also the Japanese version of it 夫婦くどり (Pretending A Married Couple) originally sung by 牧村三枝子 (Makimura Mieko). Ever since my grandpa heard this song on youtube (uploaded by Hkship as a matter of fact!), he had always been in love with it and I also felt that this was also a pretty nostalgic song so that's why I chose to cover it. The pictures that are shown are of my grandparents, some from Vietnam and some taken not too long ago. I also used their translation of 家家有本难念的经 as a basis for my own interpretation of the lyrics. I however changed a lot of the english translation to match the literal meaning of the lyrics but I just had to mention that I did refer to their translation as well!
