This theme is from the 1996 film, The Evening Star. It is a great piano piece composed by William Ross. The Evening Star was directed by Robert Harling. The film is about Aurora Greenway trying to keep her family in tact. It stars Bill Paxton, Shirley MacLaine, and Juliette Lewis. Evening Star is the sequel to the 1983 film, Terms of Endearment. Michael Gore scored Terms of Endearment. William Ross scores alot of dramatic films. His scores are very melodic and often have lots of piano. But, he's among the ranks of the great, working Hollywood film composers today such as Brian Tyler, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, etc. My favorite scores by William Ross are My Dog Skip, Tuck Everlasting and The Game of Their Lives.
