toc1955's video: Pockels Effect with a Polarizing Microscope

@Pockels Effect with a Polarizing Microscope
(Adolf Cortel, August 2020) The video shows how a crystal of lithium niobate displays a beautiful Pockels effect when it is observed in the stage of a polarizing microscope under conoscopic lighting. The optic axis of the crystal is aligned in the direction of the axis of the microscope: when a voltage (from a harmless kitchern sparker) is applied in a transverse direction the uniaxic interference figure becomes biaxic. The demonstration of the Pockels effect is usually done with a laser but the microscope allows a colorful observation of the effect. About the music: the beautiful version of Shenandoah (Traditional) by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I have not rights on this music and I have used it only for the educational purposes to which this video is aimed
