(Adolf Cortel, december 2012) A homemade grating spectrometer( 1800 lin/mm) is used to resolve the alpha deuterium and hydrogen lines (0.2 nm apart) from a Deuterium discharge tube and to compare these emision lines with the alpha hydrogen in the solar absorption Fraunhofer spectrum. A Fabry-Perot spectrometer can also be used to resolve the lines but since there are other lines in the spectrum of deuterium the observation is a bit blurred
