new normal — the times we are in right now is a far cry from what is normal. the hands we held are far from our reach; the smiles we usually see, hidden behind masks. to each other, we've become nothing but liabilities: a possible case of the virus and a potential transmission, so we became wary of other people and distanced ourselves away. since that one, fateful day in march, we went through so much more than we prepared for. so in an attempt to grow with the change, we started to shift towards the new normal. but then again, how can we even call this 'normal', when so many lives have been lost and are falling apart, and when those who struggle in the dark are never found? where even is the normalcy in the pain this pandemic brought upon us? even i refused to acknowledge the change of pace at first. it was strange and painful to leave behind all that we used to have, and so abruptly at that. we were forced to hold on to anything we could grasp to survive. it's been months now, and it's still difficult to put my mind to it, but i am slowly accepting that while what we're experiencing is unfamiliar and even unwanted, the things we are fighting for will someday shed light on the better days that the future promises. it's a long journey from now, but i will remain unwavered until then — in honor of everyone and everything we've lost along the way. ♡ new normal original song by ania art by ania
