What can happen if I use just regular music? In the best case, your video gets monetized and the owner of the music gets their money. In the worst case, you get a copyright strike. Free Music that you are allowed to use There is a lot of free music that you are allowed to use on YouTube. First of all, just regular music from well-known artists. There's a list on YouTube of those songs where you can see which songs you can use and guidelines are included. The link to this page https://www.youtube.com/music_policies?o=U Also, there's a lot of other FREE music that you are allowed to use on YouTube. For example, creative commons royalty-free music which is not always free. In most cases, you need to give credit to the artist: put the name and a link to the artist in your video description. Moreover, you need to watch out if you can use it commercially because if you monetize your videos it's technically a commercial use. Three pages where you could find free music for YouTube videos 1. YouTube audio library (https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music?nv=1) All of the music that you can find there is free for you to use in YouTube videos but be aware of quite a few of those tracks you need to give credit to the artist. Advantages: you can find a lot of different genres on this page, it's constantly expanding, and you can be certain that you're allowed to use this music on YouTube. Disadvantages: it's the go-to source for every creator so most of the songs you have heard thousands of times on YouTube. 2. Incompetech (https://incompetech.com/) The music on this page is free to use but be aware that you need to give credit to the artist for all tracks you use. Advantages: it’s a huge library with a lot of different tracks and genres that you can use. Disadvantages: used quite a bit by YouTubers and you need to search through a lot to find your perfect song. 3. Epidemic Sound (https://player.epidemicsound.com) Here you can either pay per track or a monthly fee and use as much music from the library as you'd like and even if you cancel your subscription you can still use the music in all of the videos. Advantages: because you pay for the website you don't need to name the artists. There is a huge library of songs that sound more professional than music on the other two pages. Epidemic Sound has great search functionality so it’s very easy to find the song you need. Also, there's a much lower chance than you run into copyright strike problems. Here you have an emergency contact person and proof that you are allowed to use the music. Disadvantages: you have to pay for music and it is not as secure in terms of copyright strikes as YouTubes own library. Bonus. Jukedeck (https://www.jukedeck.com/) It's technically not stock music because on this page a computer writes music especially for you: just give it a genre that you'd like, a length that you want, and rhythm. It really sounds like music! The price is free if you credit the website or $0.99 per track. Advantages: you get individual music in exactly the length that you need Disadvantages: you don't have a lot of control over the outcome, and it always takes a little bit of time until a song is created by the AI. ▬ About tubics ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ is a Video Marketing software that helps businesses and YouTube creators to rank their videos better on search engines like YouTube and Google.
