@Pebble Mill: Crossroads & Noele Gordon Appreciation Society
Alan Titchmarsh introduces Samantha Mia to present a report featuring the Crossroads and Noele Gordon Appreciation Society from a theatre in Tewkesbury, followed by an interview with Shughie McFee played by actor Angus Lennie. Pebble Mill at One is a British lunchtime magazine programme that was broadcast live from Monday to Friday at 13:00 (one o'clock, hence the title), mainly on BBC1. It was transmitted from the Pebble Mill studios of BBC Birmingham, and uniquely, was hosted from the centre's main foyer area, rather than a conventional studio. In the beginning, visitors to the studios were seen arriving in the background as the programme was transmitted. The programme was cancelled in the 1980's by then controller of BBC1 Michael Grade, to make way for the new BBC 1 o'clock News, thousands of viewers complained and it was eventually reinstated all but title, taking the new name of Daytime Live before becoming simply "Pebble Mill".
