umbreon34lps's video: Run Banana Fish YRS 100K Contest

@「革命」Run | Banana Fish || YRS 100K Contest
Note: I had to reupload, because I noticed a major mistake.... This edit began around the cusp of February and March. I initially had planned this to be a self-indulgence edit, but when I saw that YRS was holding a competition, I just told myself, "Why not?" The original idea came from back around the end of February I was reading the manga, Banana Fish, and when reading it I came upon this scene of ash looking out upon the city skyline and the recently released song, 'Run by Joji," kept replaying consistently in my head as I kept proceeding forward in my reading; I was also heavily inspired by the single's cover with lava theme, it was extremely cool! I immediately opened up my laptop and started planning out all my images and the ideas of what I was wanting to do, but then here came the catch. I started this project in Sony Vegas. I was lacking any form of confidence or satisfaction with my editing in SVP, so naturally, the project came to an immense halt until June had came around. Before, I was always contemplating on switching over to AE, but I never took the initiative, because the constant loop of, "You're basically starting over and the last 5 years was for nothing," or "AE is just not your thing." Eventually, I grew immensely sick with anything editing wise and would wait until the absolute last minute to complete a project, because I could not bear editing anymore, but I noticed one of my idols had actually recently switched over to AE; it felt like a door was opened for me and that switching over wouldn't be too bad! I began my first AE adventure around either May or June and have been in love with it ever since. Funny story about this edit, is that despite the extended deadline I still scrambled to finish it. My anxiety and nervousness to complete this project was through the roof. There were so many amazing submissions and I felt like this little peasant still testing the waters of the AE world, but I eventually said screw it and finish this bad boy anyway! Moving to my college dorm did not make it any easier trying to complete though, since I spent majority of my summer preparing and completing MEP parts first. Anyway, I am silently celebrating my completion, since my roommates already asleep. I am also quite overjoyed to have edited Banana Fish again; it's one of current favorite story and media to edit with. There is a stronger connection in the emotions, so I am able to understand it more fully and thoroughly enjoy its content. Fun fact, I read the manga version of Banana Fish first and that tore my heart apart. I would love to reread the story, but I don't think I'm emotionally ready yet still. I finished Banana Fish around 1:00 AM on the first or second of March and was sobbing the entire night. I had to wake up and go to school in the morning also, so it was an interesting morning I do have to say. I was grieving immensely that I ended up crying in my first class and later on cried when driving home back form school. Banana Fish is not meant to be taken light heartedly for sure. Thank you to my wonderful friends for supporting me through this edit and my constant random anxiety breakouts. I genuinely appreciate all the kindness from you all and thank you all from my heart. Shout out to Katie for being my mini cheerleader. Side note: this edit felt like an absolute eternity. also, i'll eventually make a decent thumbnail, but I am sucked dry with editing at the moment.
