vghchannel's video: Bally Pinball - 1979 - Bally Astrocade - gameplay

@Bally Pinball - (1979) - Bally Astrocade - gameplay
Bally Midway © 1979 [Console] Bally Astrocade Emulator: MAME 0.226 I was actually moderately impressed by this pinball to video game translation. In this time frame, pinball on the video screen is usually quite bad and boring... but this one had a decent playfield, spinners, drop targets, multipliers, and somewhat realistic ball physics. They kept the ball small, which is nice as the playfield has some feeling of space that way. It's a nice balance of challenge in hitting the targets, but not too easy to lose the ball - in otherwords, doesn't feel completely out of your control for the ball going draining time and time again with nothing you can do. The cart offers two tables, but really one has a few different bumpers and drop targets than the other - they play virtually the same from a gameplay perspective. Still, this is one of the few carts in Bally's library I can see some replay value as you try to get a high score, get a score multiplier and keep the ball in play longer, etc. Pretty fun! 16,150 pts
