video production's video: JAPAN SNOW Heavy snow warnings issued for Tokyo over hundred flights cancelled

@JAPAN SNOW (Heavy snow warnings issued for Tokyo, over hundred flights cancelled.)
It was a white Valentine's Day in Tokyo as the nation's capital got hit by heavy snows on Friday (February 14), only a week after a similar blizzard paralysed Tokyo. Traffic was snarled throughout much of the greater metropolis forcing many office workers to head home before the colder weather saw the heavy snows accumulate in drifts. "I didn't think it would snow again this week and I'm surprised. I really want the weather to get warmer," said company employee Maki Ezaki who was standing outside of Shibuya station, one of Tokyo's largest. For others, the weather became a chance to start their weekends early. "I usually work late into the night so I feel lucky when these things happen because it allows me to go home early when I intended to work late," said company employee Natsumi Muranaka. Air travel was also affected, with over 150 flights cancelled as planes were grounded, mostly domestic flights at Haneda airport. But at Tokyo's Ueno Zoo the picture was different with some animals and human definitely enjoying the cold weather. The park's polar bear was visibly excited to see something that would have been more familiar to its wilder brethren up in the north pole. "It's quite nice, well sort of..it's quite like being in winter in the North Pole," noted 13-year-old junior high school student Masanori Yamauchi who was visiting on a school trip. Not all animals enjoyed the experience. The park's monkeys gathered together, many shivering and hugging together for warmth. "Normally you can't see animals in the snow, so got to see something quite rare, which was fun," said 22-year-old Kohei Miyaguchi who has visiting the park with a classmate. Many other parts of the country have also seen heavy snows throughout the day, with some parts further out of town recording 50 centimeters (19 inches) of snow. As the snow intensifies over night, Tokyo is expected to get around 15 centimeters (6 inches) overnight although rain in the early hours of Saturday is expected to melt it away before daybreak.
