A sinkhole collapsed in the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green on Wednesday morning (February 12) damaging eight Corvettes. Photographs released by the museum show the cars that crashed into the giant gaping hole as the concrete beneath them gave way. The Bowling Green Fire Department estimated the size of the sinkhole was 40 feet wide (12 meters) and 25-30 feet (8-9 meters) deep. The hole is in the Skydome area of the museum and that section will remain closed to the public as officials investigate the incident. In a press release, the museum said none of the cars affected were on loan from individuals. The museum was empty at the time of the incident.
