@EP 1 Lunch with Head Hunters of Nagaland,| Konyak Tribe, Mon district| Indo - Myanmar Border
Travelling to North east India always comes with new and exciting experiences. This time i decided to travel to Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. This particular episode is about Mon district of Nagaland which is famous for head hunters, There are 17 headhunters in this district who are alive as this practice got banned in 1960's. We started our journey from Dibrugarh and then proceeded towards Mon town, after night stay there went to Lungwa village. Most of the tribals live near Lungwa village which is at a distance of 42 km from Lungwa town. She is a Tour guide here in Mon village. Mon Village Guide - Phohi 6909247314 Breakfast at Homestay - We had breakfast at our homestay. They have prepared the “Nagamese Breakfast” for us. Including Rice, Yam Curry & Squash. It was a healthy breakfast & overall it was good in taste. Lungwa Village - We travelled around 42 km from the Mon Village & reached the Lungwa Village. This village is located on the India - Myanmar Border. Homestay at Lungwa - I saw two homestays at Lungwa village but didn’t like them as much as the one where we stayed at Mon town. Indo-Myanmar Border - Then we visited the Indo-Myanmar border point. It was a great experience to see the 2 countries border at such a close distance with no fencing. From here we saw the villages & houses of Myanmar. King House Konyak - After this, we visited the “King House of Konyak Tribe” & also met the Present king. King’s House is very interesting because it sits on the border of India and Myanmar. The bedroom of the house is in India, while the living room is in Myanmar. Lunch - We had our lunch at the “Longsha’s Homestay” in Longwa Village. Our guide arranged our lunch with the head hunters. We met them & had some chat with them. Overall it was such a great experience to meet & have lunch with them. Folk Dance - Then they performed their traditional folk dance along with singing & ended our day.
