@EP 5 Gurez Valley to Srinagar | Bagtore | Wular Lake | Manasbal Lake | Kheer Bhawani temple Kashmir
Journey from Srinagar to Gurez or vice versa can be done in 5 to 6 hours. This is a 140 km long distance.. We visited Gurez valley in the month of June, which is the peak season time. Though Gurez valley opens for tourists in the month of April but sometimes because of snow at Razdan pass, it becomes difficult to reach Gurez. Gurez valley is cut off from the rest of the kashmir during winter time ie November to March. If you wish to know whether Gurez valley is open or not, i.e. you want to know the status of roads, then you can approach TRC in Srinagar. It is strongly advised that before you visit Gurez , do check beforehand on roads being open for tourism. Tourist Reception Centre: Contact - 0194 - 2502270, 2502271 Website: https://srinagar.nic.in/contact-us/ This Video was shot on 28th June 2023. Below are the activities / key destinations we visited enroute on way to Srinagar. We started from our Hotel to visit Bagtore which is around 24 km from Dawar, Gurez. This village is very close to POK. We went there to see Meadow near this village, you get a very beautiful view of Kishanganga river from the top which further turns into Neelum River when it enters into Pakistan after Taarbal Village. Kishan Ganga River - It is a major tributary of the west-flowing Jhelum River. This is known as Neelam river in pakistan. Wular Vintage Park - This is said to be 2nd largest freshwater lake in Asia. https://baramulla.nic.in/tourist-place/wular-lake/ There is a well maintained garden which comes on the way to Srinagar, which is surrounded by a wular lake. Entry Fee - Rs 20 per person. Best time to visit this garden is either morning or evening. This is about 50 km from srinagar. Manasbal Lake - Another lake where one can do Shikara ride, around 30 km from Srinagar. Doing shikara ride in srinagar & in manasbal will be of different experience, as you get wide view of the lake & surrounded mountains. Kheer Bhawani Temple - 15 km from Manasbal Lake, 30km from Srinagar. By the time we reached the temple it was closed for darshan. Timing is really important. Morning 8 am to 5 pm. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. One of the most distinctive features of the Kheer Bhawani Temple is the natural spring that emerges from the ground within the temple premises. The color of the spring's water is said to change, which is believed to reflect the goddess's mood and foretell future events. The water is considered sacred, and devotees offer rice pudding (kheer) to the goddess, which gives the temple its name. After this we ended our day at Srinagar. Hope you like the video.
