The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a mid-size sport utility vehicle produced by the Chevrolet division of American automaker General Motors. On November 10, 2011, General Motors officially revealed a second generation of the vehicle to be sold worldwide. 31th-Jan-2012: Chevrolet India is mulling to bring its giant Trailblazer SUV on Indian shores soon. Chevrolet Trailblazer will be positioned amid Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in India. Thought to be priced at about Rs 15 lakh-Rs 17 lakh, Chevy's new beastly SUV will have a choice of engines ranging from 2.8-litre (180bhp, 47.8 kgm) to 2.5-litre, 150bhp diesel units. Seeing these figures, one can gauge that the new car is able to give a neck-to-neck competition to Fortuner and Endeavour. The SUV will be a proper body on frame with 7 seats and will be more spacious than other serious SUVs in India. Chevrolet Trailblazer engine-extremely fuel efficient. The car will come with two engine tunes, one being 2.8 litres producing 180 BHP of peak power and the other one with 2.5 litres of engine churning out 150 BHP of power. Both these motors are diesel and promise the consumer to be highly fuel efficient. Chevrolet Trailblazer with 2.5 litre of diesel engine is expected to deliver an average fuel economy of about 13 km per litre, which is actually quite impressive for an SUV. On the other hand, the variant powered with 2.8 litre of diesel motor is likely to deliver a mileage of 12 km per litre. To make Chevrolet Trailblazer more fuel economic, the engine has been intelligently coupled with six speed automatic transmission, which also enhances the driving experience for the owner. Delivering the mileage of about12 to 13 km per litre for an SUV is certainly remarkable, especially when it is being sold in a mileage driven country. Trailblazer looks sizzling on roads. It has perfect body with awesome dimensions. The fit and finish has no lacking in it. It is made of highly detailed sheet metal. The brawn image of Chevrolet Trailblazer is complemented with sporty roof rails, projector type head lamps and silver skid plate. Chevrolet is giving all its cars a signature two part grille. This wide grille is neatly outlined with chrome and the partition adorns a Chevrolet bowtie on it. The bonnet is held high with a lot of character lines. The tinted windscreen appears to very small due to the sloping down roof at the front. An addition in sinew the character of Trailblazer is added by the thick chrome band incorporated in the lower bumper. This band extends to the side air ducts which are thickly chrome outlined. Trailblazer garners claps from all its angles. The rear windscreen is extended so much that it comes at the side also. The quarter glass is very small thus shrinking the window frame and imparting a crossover like structure. However, the B Pillar is tad too thick and sheds attitude to passerby. It is reported that the designers in Brazil were very cognizant in sticking to 'body-in, wheels out' type pattern which led to the ultimate sporty look. This design delivers high approach and departure angles. The intricate sheet metal work is evident in door panels; rear quarters that amalgamates layers of natural light. The new-generation Trailblazer combines the hauling and towing capability of a body-on-frame SUV While front and side have muscle and matter attached to its character, the rear is all about elegance. The futuristic design of tail lamps makes one doubtful about 2012 Chevrolet Trailblazer being a production version. The rear spoiler a seam of LED high mount stop lamp. The pillar less rear windscreen is adapted for a wider look at the curvy rear.
