whistlerfilm's video: DRINKWATER Trailer WFF21

@DRINKWATER Trailer #WFF21
Streaming online across Canada until December 31 Get your tickets: https://bit.ly/3DTqcDg Set in a small British Columbian town, Mike Drinkwater (Daniel Doheny) has trouble fitting in and is constantly bullied by the wealthy school jock Luke Ryan. Eric McCormack plays Hank, Mike’s offbeat father, who is always trying to find ways of defrauding insurance companies and the government. He also has some long-simmering issues with Luke’s father, Wesley, because that’s how small towns are. Enter Wallace, a young woman from the US who carries her own personal tragedy within her, even as she tries to adjust to a new, strange environment. The connection between her and Mike makes them both stronger. This may be one of the most unapologetically Canadian films we’ve ever seen: there is a Zamboni, an extended Tim Horton’s drive-through scene, a subplot about a Wayne Gretsky rookie card, and the sounds of classic Canadian rockers from Doug and the Slugs to Loverboy. These ingredients mix well for a light-hearted coming-of-age story that is thoroughly enjoyable in a John Hughes sort of way.
