wildfire19861987's video: Steam on the Midland RY - 9-2-12

I figured the 844 was going to be the last bit of steam I'd see this year. I was wrong. For the first time since the 50's, steam returned to the former Santa Fe line from Ottawa to Baldwin City, KS during the Midland RY's Railfest over the Labor Day weekend. Lehigh Valley Coal 0-6-0T was trucked in and pulled excursion trains (3 each day) from Baldwin to Norwood all 3 days (due to the limited water and coal capacity it couldn't go any further). In addition Katy RS-3M pulled excursions to Ottawa and back, and cab rides were being given in NYC RS-3 . Motor car rides were also avalable. I caught it on Sunday, when in addition to the 3 public trips, a 4th was done for Midland volunteers. Unfortunately either the railfanning gods were against me or I used up all of my luck on the 844 chase. If it wasn't people walking into my shots it was me making mistakes, or my camera malfunctioning.
