Optimism is usually considered a positive trait for someone to have. But perhaps it's a wolf in sheep's clothing--not just impotent, but dangerous. I say let's throw it in the trash can--along with pessimism and realism--and replace it with a new (but difficult to pronounce) ethic: Rosieism.
