Preceded by Leroy McGuirk's Tri-State Wrestling in the 1960s and 1970s and transformed into the Universal Wrestling Federation in the mid-1980s, the region run by Bill Watts is legendary for its hot angles, incredible talent and episodic television. The region was also infamous amongst the wrestlers for its size, which necessitated long treks through Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi along with parts of Texas and Missouri.
