This short documentary film interviews young Americans living in Syria before the outbreak of civil war. From their descriptions, it seems that Syria was a relatively safe country, and tolerant of different religions or ethnic backgrounds. While American media has continued to demonize the Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad as a dictator, we should look back to before the propaganda campaign began. In doing so, perhaps we may get a clearer picture of what is really going on.
