“Thinking of you, wherever you are.” I’ve been working on two Kingdom Hearts projects recently and wanted to get one of them up by the day KH3 came out. So glad I made it in time! This is my first real tribute to Sora, Riku, and Kairi, my favorite trio of Kingdom Hearts. I should’ve made this a long time ago! There’s nothing that hits me in the feels quite as hard as their story line. I love these three so much and they have had such a journey since the start of KH1. It feels right to make a tribute to their original story line, the one we’ve been watching for years, right before the new chapter of their story is released. I have no idea what’s going to happen with these three in KH3. I can only hope it lives up to parts one and two. And even if it doesn’t, what we have already is one of the best trio stories in the world. The wayfinder trio has epic moments and the seasalt trio is full of beautiful tragedy, but for me the paopu trio always comes out on top. As I type this I’m waiting for gamestop to open so I can go buy Kingdom Hearts 3. It has been an amazing wait throughout 2018. I finally played Birth by Sleep and gained a new favorite in Aqua, then played Dream Drop Distance and finally discovered how much I truly love Riku. I can not describe how ready I am and how hyped. KH3 has been like a fairy tale my whole life, something to dream about that might never be made real. I’m not sure it’s possible to live up to thirteen years of expectation. But no matter what, there are things coming in this game that I’m not expecting, and that is one of the most exciting things of all. I’m not sure what’s waiting on the other side of this game’s release, but guys, we made it and no matter what, we’re going to have fun. This moment reminds me of Kairi and Sora looking out at the ocean and dreaming of what lay beyond. “I just can’t wait. Once we set sail, it’ll be great.”
