@Alisa Burke: How and why to say no to work
I would say, number one is to bare in mind that when you're able to say no to something, it opens doors and allows you to say yes to something else. I would say it's a rather British trait, we're not very good at saying no. So anything when you can find a way of practising being more assertive will help you to say the nos, and because this body route that I use works fast, and works in a way that sticks, I would normally work with people on building that, the body of someone who is assertive, so that they can think, in a situation where they're put under pressure, they start to notice the feeling of, 'Okay, maybe this is something I want to counter, make a counter offer, or- or turn down,' that they can actually bring the body of someone who is more assertive, before they can actually start speaking, and then they'll be able to speak with more authority and balanced thought, if you like, before they commit to a rushed yes.
