@Referendum For Indigenous Voice To Parliament 2023... "Trust Us, Just Vote Yes" - ALP.
- Say NO to the Voice. CLP Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price says people in the public service “are being pushed toward” voting yes for the government’s proposed Voice to Parliament - Links Below: “They’ve already got their ‘yes’ campaign bankrolled,” Australians are going to be asked to vote on the “vibe, not any specific proposal” when it comes to the Indigenous Voice to Parliament. It comes after The Australian reported that the Albanese government is “increasingly unlikely to put out a detailed plan” on how the Voice would work before next year’s national vote. One of the Voice’s key supporters, Professor Megan Davis, said going out with “fully-fledged detail is dangerous” because Australia needs to vote on “the amendment, not the model”. Meanwhile, another Voice supporter, Professor Tom Calma, said the detail will only be decided “once the referendum passes”. “Clearly, what Voice advocates want, is for voters to give them a blank cheque, where they can then fill in the amount later,” Ms Credlin said. 10 reasons to say NO to the Voice!: 1. Aboriginal Australians do not speak with one voice - political views are as diverse amongst Aboriginal Australians as any other group. So whose voice will prevail? 2. It is race based and exclusive, therefore racist. It will further racially polarise Australia. 3. It is open to infiltration by radical activists. It is open to being weaponized and radicals could resort to lawfare, undermining democracy and parliament's authority. 4. What happens if parliament rejects the advice/demands of the Voice? 5. It will be a permanent body given that it is written into the constitution. If it turns out to be a disaster we are stuck with it. 6. I doubt it will make any significant difference to communities in real need. 7. Those who oppose recommendations/demands of the Voice - will be labelled as racist - even if objections are based on objective reasons. 8. Those who "represent" the Voice will not be democratically elected. 9. An Aboriginal advisory group to parliament need not be written into the constitution - given that its proponents claim it has no power. 10. The Voice will require a bureaucracy adding yet another layer to an already over-governed Australia and will be a huge waste of money.
