@METEOROLOGISTS PREDICT: Extreme Winter Weather Heading Towards Australia -29 June 2017
'ANTARCTICA Messing With The Weather System That Swirls Around The South Pole And Is Causing A Dramatic Effect On Winter'. Snow, plummeting temperatures, hail and ‘unbelievably severe frost’ on the way, with a blast of polar air bringing snow, hail and “unbelievably severe frost” RUG up Australia — it’s about to get chilly. Meteorologists are predicting “extreme winter weather” Showers, hail, thunderstorms and deep snow could strike parts of Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia. Canberrans should brace themselves for a snap even colder than usual and “unbelievably severe frost” will work its way across much of inland NSW and even up to Queensland. The warning comes as a series of cold fronts sweep across the Great Australian Bight towards the country’s south east. “Extreme winter weather is heading towards southern Australia later this week,” A blast of cold polar air to Tasmania and southern Victoria.” This will drop temperatures and lead to snow to around the 300m elevation mark by Thursday with Tasmania’s western highlands receiving a solid 20cm of snow. So it will come as no surprise to learn that Antarctica is having an effect on our weather. But perversely, meteorologists have said that a weather system circulating around the polar region is not leading to colder, but warmer conditions. The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) released its climate outlook for July to September on Thursday and the forecast is for an overall mild rest of winter leading to a balmy spring. It comes as we are about to head out of one the driest June months ever. Victoria is set to record its driest June since record keeping began, breaking a record that was set in WWII. The BOM on Thursday said the driest June was in 1944, with 22mm of rain falling in those 30 days. This June is sitting at just 11mm of rain, with only 2mm more expected in the final 36 hours before July begins. Senior Hydrologist with the Bureau, Paul Feikema, said a high pressure system was dominating much of the southern hemisphere pushing temperatures up and keeping the rain away. “Outlooks suggest dry and warm conditions are likely to extend into early spring.” The cause is due to the interaction, or lack of interaction to be more accurate, between three of Australia’s main climate drivers — El Nino, the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) and the Southern Annular Mode (SAM) *GRAND SOLAR MINIMUM APPROACHING - MINI ICE AGE 2024* Solar Minimum is yin to the yang of Solar Maximum, a natural part of the sun’s ~11 year sunspot cycle. Solar Minimum brings a time of enhanced cosmic rays, pink auroras, a collapsing ionosphere and accumulating space junk. *Link to news.com.au article - Bureau of Meteorology forecast for Australian winter and spring: http://www.news.com.au/technology/environment/bureau-of-meteorology-forecast-for-australian-winter-and-spring/news-story/bceb199b848f42c794c3e664433284b1 *Link to news.com.au article - Snow, plummeting temperatures, hail and ‘unbelievably severe frost’ on the way: http://www.news.com.au/technology/environment/snow-plummeting-temperatures-hail-and-unbelievably-severe-frost-on-the-way/news-story/1d43311c2e8c4c5f47d1ddf3205b6b32 *More Videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/yarndy/videos ***PLEASE SUBSCRIBE*** Thanks for watching
