Here’s why you should train calves first: 1. Calve raises require dedicated plantar flexion movement. This is also required in various leg exercises such as squats (to some degree) and on single leg presses (to a greater degree). ➡️ By performing calve raises first, you properly mobilise your ankles. Reducing your warm up set demands on other leg movements. 2. Calve raise is a compound movement. ➡️We have a huge potential to lift heavy here. But because we perform it as the last exercise, we limit our abilities. Do it first and you will be able to lift significantly heavy. 3.
