Imelda, formerly Tubog, is a barangay in the municipality of San Juan, in the province of Batangas. San Juan, officially the Municipality of San Juan (Tagalog: Bayan ng San Juan), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Batangas, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 108,585 people. Most of us have been stuck at home for months now and while we know that we’re staying at home for a good reason, we can’t help but miss the traveling life we had before the pandemic. Thankfully, tourism is slowly reopening—even just for day trips near Manila. As a backpacker we celebrated our first day out of quarantine with a trip to the beach. This is also to celebrate our Christmas for 2020. Known for its iconic dive spots and stunning beaches, Batangas never disappoints. From the relaxing and heart-pumping activities to beautiful Batangas tourist spots, the province surely has a lot to offer for all types of travelers, especially for the love birds that’s why Batangas is a great destination for a weekend getaway near Manila for couples. What makes it even better is that Batangas is just two hours away from Manila, perfect for city dwellers in need of a quick escape.
