That´s the last Mignone piece I´ll record for some time, now I´m studying some Mozart and Chopin. "On March 9th, 1964 I had the good fortune to meet Francisco Mignone when he gave the inaugural class at the Lorenzo Fernandez Academy, where I taught Musical Initiation and Piano. When I arrived at the auditorium, there was Mignone playing his Valsas de Esquina (Street Corner Waltzes), I recall well: numbers 5 and 8. On leaving, we met again in the elevator and thus a beautiful "love story" began. The following day he gave me as a present the Seis Pequenas Valsas de Esquina (Six Little Street Corner Waltes), dedicated to Jô (as he affectionately called me)."
