Even though the two are close, she's always felt that they were "selfishly going ahead" of her, and in order to keep up she has to move forward and try to grasp that twinkling star that embodies her dreams. なにかを失ってしまいそうな 想い浮かべ　船を出す (It feels like I'm about to lose something Raising my feelings, I set for a voyage) 夜を　いくつも　過ごして 未来へ　繋ぐの (I pass over, countless nights To connect myself, to the future) The above lines we felt were especially poignant and fitting to the theme. To hang on to the current bonds with her love interest which are slipping away, she has to drum up the courage to end this relationship and begin a new one, which she likens to setting sail for a new voyage. The following lines then describe her feelings of indecisions, of the countless nights she spent imagining the uncertain future between her and her love interest. Although her confession received no answer and she is left "muttering [their] name alone", hoping that "the sound lingering in the air will reach [them]", she has nonetheless taken the first step in a new beginning to their relationship, be it for better or for worse. - by exe.
