Замереть, зажать в кулак, Биенье сердца страхом заглушая... Но лишь рассвет растопит душный мрак И черта ночи в клочья разметает. И вот тогда из серой полутьмы, Наперекор трусливым порицаньям, Назло укорам кляузной толпы, Прозреет притупленное сознанье. Зажжется вновь бесстрашия свеча, Как в давние заснеженные годы, И не боясь ни Cуд, ни палача, Душа потребует себе свободы. Нью-Йорк, 31 декабря 2020 год.
