「お念仏をとなえれば、誰もが極楽浄土に往生できる」、この教えを掲げ浄土宗を開き、生涯をかけて説き広められた法然上人のご遺徳を偲ぶ法要を御忌（御忌大会）といいます。 　大本山増上寺御忌期間中、4月5〜7日各唱(しょう)導師(どうし)による14時からの日中法要に先立ち、法要開始30分前、江戸三大名鐘(めいしょう)の一つに数えられる大梵鐘(だいぼんしょう)が鳴り響きます。 これを合図に、荘厳服(しょうごんふく)に身を包んだ唱導師を中心として、木遣(きやり)・寺(てら)侍(さむらい)・吉水講(よしみずこう)・講中(こうじゅう)・稚児(ちご)・式(しき)衆(しゅう)・法類(ほうるい)随喜(ずいき)寺院(じいん)・総代などの僧俗200〜300名が練行列を行い、古式ゆかしく大門から三門、大殿(だいでん)へと進みます。法要を勤める導師（唱導師）が三門をくぐり境内に足を踏み入れる瞬間、三門楼上からは無数の散華(さんか)が舞い散り、まさに極楽浄土さながらの光景が広がります。 行列が本堂に入堂(にゅうどう)する直前に、大殿前に設置した舞台上で「庭(てい)儀式(ぎしき)」が行われ、その後、一同は大殿にて法要をとり行います。 http://www.zojoji.or.jp/ https://jodo.or.jp/ Honen Shonin (1133–1212), founder of the Japanese Jodo Shu of Buddhism, proclaimed and propagated the teaching that by chanting the name of the Amida Buddha anyone can come to dwell in the Pure Land. The Gyoki Daie Ceremonies are held to commemorate his death and great virtues. On April 5–7, at 1:30 in the afternoon, 30 minutes before the start of services conducted by an instructor, the Big Bell (Daibon-sho) of the Zojoji, numbered among the most famous bells in Edo (Tokyo) is rung. This is the signal for the start of a procession consisting of the Shodoshi instructor and from 200 to 300 other participants clothed in traditional clerical and lay costumes. In accordance with ancient custom, it moves from the Main Gate to the Sanmon Gate and the Main Hall. Suggesting the Pure Land, the moment the Shodoshi instructor enters the temple precincts by stepping through the Sanmon Gate, numberless paper lotus petals rain down from the gate top. Immediately before the procession enters the Main Hall, a ceremony called the Teigishiki is held on a platform constructed in front of the hall. At its conclusion, the processors enter the hall.
