[1:50] 요리는 좀 늦게 시작했어요. 대학에서 생물학을 전공하다 의대에 진학했죠. [3:01] 병원에서 회진을 돌 때는 항상 불안하고 자신이 없었어요. 집에 가는 길에는 항상 다음날이 걱정됐죠. 주방에서 일할 때는 반대였어요. 집에 갈 때는 들떠 있었죠. ‘내일 일어나면 뭘 배울까.’ ‘어떻게 하면 더 나은 요리사가 될까.’ [3:40] 앞으로 60년은 일할 거예요. 자기가 하고 싶은 일을 찾아야죠. [6:12] 한식은 정말 어려워요. 프랑스식, 일식, 그 어떤 요리 기술보다 훨씬 어렵습니다. [6:58] 한식을 하는 모든 요리사는 맛있는 음식을 만들 책임이 있어요. [8:18] 제가 최고의 요리를 하도록 한국 전체가 뒤에서 저를 지지해주는 것만 같아요. 한국이 최고라는 걸 보여주도록 말이죠. The First Michelin Star Chef of Korean Food, Hooni Kim [1:07] My name is Hooni Kim. I am the chef and owner of ‘Danji’ and ‘Hanjan’ in New York City. [1:15] The biggest award that Danji received was a Michelin star. It was the first Korean restaurants in the world. [1:50] I started cooking kind of late. I was in a college for biology and then I went to medical school. [3:01] In a hospital doing rounds, I was just nervous and I was not confident. On my way home, I was worried about the next day. Working in the kitchen was completely the opposite. Going home, I was excited to wake up tomorrow to learn how to be a better cook. [3:40] You’re going to be working for 60 years. You have to find what you like. [6:12] It’s so much more difficult than French or Japanese or any other cuisine. [6:58] All chefs who cook Korean food need to have a responsibility.
