Takht-e Soleymān 솔로몬의 왕좌라는 뜻의 Takh-e Soleyman은 이란의 West Azarbaijan주의 고대 유적지로 테헤란 서쪽 400 Km 지점의 Takab이라는 작은 도시 근처에 위치하여 있다. 이 부근에는 2개의 화산 분화구가 있으며 그 하나는 Takh-e Soleyman이고 다른 것은 솔로몬의 감옥이라는 뜻의 Zendan-e Soleyman이다. 이 고대 유적지는 기원전 5세기의 Achaemenid 시대부터 성채를 쌓고 고대인들이 거주하던 곳으로 Adur Gushnasp (The fire of the warrior kings, 전사의 불)이라는 불을 모시는 신성한 곳이며 화산 분화구에는 샘물이 솟아 연못을 이루고 있으며 연못을 중심으로 요새화된 이 성채는 2003년 UNESCO 세계 문화유산에 등록되었다. Sasanian 시대에는 성채 안에 조로아스터의 불의 신전을 세웠으며 그 후 일카나이드 시대에 증축하여 궁전으로 사용되어오다 이슬람화 후 폐허가 되어 지금은 잔재만 남아있다. 이 불의 신전에서는 Sasanian 왕들이 왕좌에 오르기 전 몸과 마음을 정화하는 제례를 들였던 곳이라고 전해진다. 근처의 Zendan-e Soleyman은 100m 깊이의 분화구로 솔로몬 왕이 나쁜 괴물들을 잡아 가두는 데 사용하였다는 전설이 전해 내려오고 있으며 그래서 솔로몬의 감옥(Zendan-e Soleyman)이라고 불린다.
