Abandoned UK's video: Urbex The House of the Damned

@Urbex ~ The House of the Damned
"The House of the Damned" Is a small stone farmhouse, built around 1875, part of a large country estate & lived in by the Sanders family, Exactly when it was last inhabited is unknown, but possibly the mid to late 1970s. The head of the farm was John Sanders, his family tree records show his great grandfather was also a John Sanders in 1782 & looks to end with his two daughters, who perhaps never married, or did so & moved away from the area. I made this overnight visit, knowing that the weather forecast was for snow, & during the night the wind really got up, and it rained quite hard, but sadly no morning snow covered landscape for me to photograph, it passed by a little further north, although it did get unbearably bloody cold during the night at one point, and i had a fitful nights rest because of it, the noise from the gusting wind, was every so often rattling a tin roof or something on an outbuilding, & was kept awake half the night, alone with my thoughts in the inky blackness, but for my two flickering candles, the wind was conspiring with my imagination, like only the wind & shadows can. Apart from the wind & the rain on the window's & a constant dripping on the bedroom floor above me sounding like an old clock, i clearly heard a dog barking in the distance & thought i heard some voices even closer outside, but put this down to the wind & my imagination, before drifting into another light sleep. The other building that looks similar in size to the farmhouse, i think could maybe have been the servants quarters (George & Frank Pickering), as the building had two floors & a few windows, i cannot imagine any more than the two adults, John & Sarah & their two daughters, Agnes & Norah, living in the two bedroom farmhouse, i didn't explore the other outbuildings at all really, no more than in the video, due to time & worries over travel (weather), also i was feeling it the next morning from not having a jacuzzi or even a king size bed, that, plus all the walking uphill & down dale from the day before, & i still had my return trek. By the way! the house was so renamed "The House of the Damned" by another explorer, who found an old newspaper with an article or headline about the punk rock band "the damned" from the 1970's, just in case you were curious. This trip was another most enjoyable one, although i really do wish that it had snowed in the night, well alright maybe, just a little bit, or it was a touch more springlike around the farmhouse, with a few garden flowers adding some colour, perhaps planted by John Sanders wife Sarah herself, all those years ago? But i was very happy to have payed it a visit, probably just this once. I felt very welcome there (no bad aura's) & very pleased to reach the shelter of it's very thick stone walls, for the night wasn't so far behind me, relieved mostly, as i was physically all in & knew we were in for a cold snap. it's such a lovely little rural idyll. Having read up on the farms history, well, as much as i was able to discover, knowing just a little about the people who lived & worked there, really added to the explore & made my visit there that little bit more special, the farm evoked thought's of my childhood, of a time before that, a much harder time, but also slower paced one & a more healthier existence, when the summer day's were never ending, i was completely lost to another time just for a few hours, while visiting this beautiful old abandoned little farmstead. I am quite pleased with the finished video, but again i can see bits here & there where i could have improved upon. I hope that you enjoy the video & thanks for supporting my channel by watching, liking & sharing the videos. Music Credits: Artist: Tenaya ~ Album: Wanderlust © all rights reserved Track 7.
