Topic: Is the 2022 Mercedes-Benz E450 4MATIC Cabriolet the best convertible in the world? By Nauman Farooq With the departure of the S-class Cabriolet, the E-class Cabriolet is the top drop-top offered by Mercedes-Benz; if you're looking for something that also has (usable) back seats! Sure, the all-new SL-class supposedly has back seats, but they'll only be useful for hamsters. So, how is the E-class cabriolet? We tested this E450 4MATIC version to find out! Styling: This is an attractive looking vehicle, but it doesn't get the Tik-Tok and Instagram crowd to pull out their smart phones and start taking pictures! So, if you're looking for something nice, but don't want too much attention - this will do just fine! Interior: Step inside and you'll realize where your money really goes! The interior in this car is not only beautiful to look at, but is also very comfortable and full of tech. If this interior doesn't impress you - nothing likely will! Powertrain: Under the hood is a turbocharged 3.0L inline-six cylinder motor with mild-hybrid assist, good for 362 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Power is fed to all-wheels (thanks to its 4MATIC system) via a 9-speed automatic gearbox. Both the engine and transmission are smooth and responsive. Performance: The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (0-60 mph) is over in 5.2 seconds. Top speed is 210 km/h. So, more than fast enough for daily use, but not likely to see off many sports cars on the track. Fuel Economy: In the city, it'll consume 11.2 L/100 km. On the highway, it'll drink roughly 8.4 L/100 km. Not bad, but just remember, it only likes to drink premium gasoline, so your fuel bills will be high - especially at current gas prices. Price: In Canada, the base price for this model is $91,000 + dealer fees and taxes. That's not cheap, but this car is the "jack of all trades" and hence not a bad deal! Our tester was priced at $110,000. Verdict: At the top (and in the thumbnail) we posted the question, asking if this is the best convertible in the world? Well... the short answer is no; and that's largely due to what you're looking from your drop-top ride! There are faster, more exciting convertibles on the market (the current BMW Z4 M40i is actually a little bit cheaper, and a lot more exciting to drive, whereas a Bentley Continental GTC would surely be more luxurious and powerful), but this E450 Cabriolet does everything very well. Spend some time with it, and you'll likely be very content; money well spent, to be honest! - Hope you liked this video, please Subscribe to our YouTube channel, and also hit us up on Instagram and Facebook - thank you!
