@Chili Chicken (Indo Chinese Recipe)
Check my blog here: http://www.bengalicurry.com/ This Chili Chicken is a delicious Indo Chinese recipe which is very famous in all over India. It is good as starter and also great combination with fried rice or noodles. It can be prepared as dry if planning to take as starter or wet if you want to have it as side dish with fried rice or noodles. Cooking Time: 20 minutes Ingredients (Serves 2 persons): 1/2 lbs boneless chicken cut into small cubes 1 egg 2 table spoon cornstarch 1 tea spoon ginger garlic paste 2 tea spoon chili sauce 1/2 tea spoon black pepper 1 green bell pepper cut into cubes 1 onion cut into cubes A small bunch of spring onion chopped 1 tea spoon chopped ginger 1 tea spoon chopped garlic 4 - 5 green chilies cut into half 1/2 table spoon cooking oil 1/2 table spoon soya sauce 1 tea spoon white vinegar Salt to taste Method: 1. Take chicken pieces then add the egg with it's yellow yolk and white. Add 1/4 tea spoon ginger garlic paste, 1 tea spoon chili sauce, black pepper, a pinch of salt and a table spoon of cornstarch. 2. Mix all these ingredients nicely with chicken pieces. 3. Heat some oil on a deep frying pan. Add chicken pieces on the medium hot oil to fry and also make sure that chicken pieces are not sticking to each other. 4. All other ingredients mixed with the chicken will create a coating. Make sure that chicken is fried until it looks nice brown color. 5. When chicken is fried, pick them up and keep aside for later use. 6. Now put a pan on the oven. Chinese foods are generally prepared on high flame but initially keep the temperature medium. We will increase the temperature to high when all ingredients are on the pan. Otherwise we can burn some of the ingredients. 7. When the pan is hot, add cooking oil. 8. Let the oil heat up and then add chopped ginger and garlic. 9. When ginger and garlic is light brown color, add diced onions, bell peppers and sliced green chili. 10. Toss all these ingredients together to mix up nicely. 11. Add a little salt. 12. Now add fried chickens, vinegar, soya sauce and 1 tea spoon chili sauce. 13. Then increase the heat to high and mix everything together. 14. Let it cook for 1 - 2 minutes so that all sauces are soaked by vegetables and chicken. 15. Then add some cornstarch dissolved in water. 1 tablespoon is used for coating on chicken and here another tablespoon is used to make thick gravy with the chili chicken. 16. If you want more gravy (chili chicken wet) add more cornstarch with water. In addition to that also chicken stock can be used here for making more gravy. 17. Now add spring onions and toss everything together to mix up nicely. 18. Chili chicken is now ready, serve hot and enjoy this delicious Indo Chinese recipe. Try this and let me know if you like it.
