Mothers in PNG have a 1 in 20 chance of dying during pregnancy and childbirth, and over 5000 babies die each year within their first few weeks of life. Burnet's Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies program aims to understand the causes of these devastating statistics and work out the most effective life-saving interventions.
