January 19, 2019: My weather cam time-lapse showing quick heavy snow accumulations in Columbus, Indiana (view in darker room, you can see the snow and low visibility): After 0.71 inches rain & temps in mid-30's during day, arctic air plunged southeastward as upper energy synced with surface low in Kentucky, creating a deformation band that sat nearly stationary oriented SW to NW over southern Indiana for a few hours. Snowfall rates at 2-3 inches per hour. Heaviest in Lawrence County (Bedford) with 8 inches and 6-8 inches widespread northeastward as well though Shelby county. Estimate at my location northeast side of Columbus is 8.5 inches in total.
