Before the start of the war, Kunti meets Karna and says the truth that her elder child is karna. She asked karna to join the pandavas, but karna rejected her request as he will not cheat his friend. Kunti asked two boons 1) you should not kill any pandavas 2) you should use the naga astra only once. Karna gave the two boons with the exception that he will kill only Arjun and not any other pandavas. He also asked two boons from his mother. 1) till my death, you should not tell that I am your son. 2) after my death, you should come near me and shout aloud that my son is karna. This will eliminate my birth insult. Since karna asked two boons on the sake of no one, kunti felt ashamed as she asked boon on the sake of his other sons by eliminating karna. SCENE – 7 Karna’s charity Before the war, Deva Indra came to karna in the form of Brahmin and asked his kavach and kundal as alms. Karna cut kavach and kundal from his body and gave it to indra. All the rules were broken and 7 of them attacked the young hero at a time and in all directions and killed him. SCENE – 11 Ghatotkacha’s death The demon ghatotkacha gave up his life to save Arjun. The Vasavi Shakti astra was used by karna to kill ghatotkacha. SCENE – 12 Karna’s death. Karna was killed by Arjun. After his death, kunti said the truth that karna is the elder of the pandavas.
